DIY Daddy

My lovely eldest daughter turned three in April. She was supposed to receive a play kitchen/oven that was given by a friend and Nathan promised to 'fix up' for her. However, daddy has been very busy in recent months and has only gotten around to it this past week.

Here he is adding the finishing touches.

Take That at the Circus!!!!!!!

My first ever Take That show and my first arena/stadium gig in over a decade!!

Aside from it being amazing and so much fun, I just enjoyed the atmosphere in general and the challenge of taking reasonably good photos on my old compact camera. I can't believe it's been so long since I've been out to this sort of gig, I am definitely going to have to do it again and soon!

Any recommendations of good bands very welcome.

Dark Eyes

What do you mean "Oh no not another photo of Squishy"?

I know I've taken rather a lot but she is beautiful and a particularly willing model.

Her appearance is really changing at the moment though so I see this as good documentation. The sun is making her hair get lighter everyday, whilst browning her skin beautifully (her daddy's genes methinks), and with her very dark blue eyes, she just looks incredibly cute!

Apple & Blueberry Pie

It's harder to take a "good" food photo than it may first appear. I've never been totally happy with any I've taken yet. I want to take one that would be good enough to appear in a magazine.

Pensive

A thoughtful (and tired) Nathan waiting for our food in Cafe Rouge after his degree show this evening. We watched the first half and then decided to make a break for it during the interval. I was very impressed and entertained by all the films I saw. You can view them online if you'd like to check them out. Nathan's film Lift is right at the bottom!

WHACK!!

This is the brief moment before Squishy whacked the camera. She has a habit of doing this at the moment as well as hitting my face and generally anything that gets in her way or is spoiling her fun.

Lakeland Farming

Ambleside in the Lakes. We walked through the fields to get to the top of Windemere. Absolutely stunning sky views. It's been so hard to chose which photo to use.

Robin Red Breast

This little Robin joined us for Breakfast on Sunday morning. He stole a number of pieces of cheese, bread and gobbled some innocent worms and flies at the same time.

Fireside

Flames

The first of two photos taken on Saturday night. I took so many of the camp fire but this is my favourite.

(All my photos from Friday have other people in and need to get permission before posting so decided on two saturday ones instead!).

Thurs 18th - P for Pingu

The last of the alphabet attempt.

Wed 17th - Baking Babies

Nope not actually baking the babies but babies baking! Squishy's first experience of baking cake. (I think I'm going to give up on the A - Z photography as I'm finding it boring).

Tues 16th - N is for Night Time

A view from our living room window at around 11pm at night.

Mon 15th - M is for Mowing the Lawn

Gorgeous sexy hubby doing the lawn and making my garden look nice again.

Sun 14th - Tadpole

This is obviously not the next letter in the sequence but we all felt proud of ourselves when we caught the little tadpole.

Sat 13th - L for Licorice

Fri 12th - K is for Kettle

A rather rubbish clutching at straws photo!

Thurs 11th - J is for Jacob

We saw 3 or 4 narrow boats pass us on Thursday. This was the only one who waved at us!

I for Ice

H is for Happy Girl

Just a simple 'of the moment' photo in ASDA cafe playing with her Daddy's ipod touch.

G for Glow

F for Feet

I took a couple of photo's of feet early on in the year and decided to give it another go. I feel this is a much better photo and shows I've improved in some ways at least!

You can see the first ones here.

Eye

Seren fell down the stairs today and smacked her face and head at the bottom. She had an enormous bump on her forehead and as you can see, a shiner of an eye. She is surprisingly fine and once we were at the A&E she started to run around, play with the toys and climb up all over the tables and chairs!

Dying

This is me feeling like I am dying because I'm ill with some sort of sickness bug. Nathan took the photo.

Thurs 4th - Clothes

Piles and piles of them.

Clean, dirty, folded, unfolded, they just go on and on and on ....

Argh An Accident!!!

Minutes after a bath my darling littlest daughter deposited this on her sister's bedroom carpet. So kind. I happened to have my camera on as I'd been taking other photos and 'ding' it became clear that today's photo lay before me!

A Summers Day

Intentionally long exposure so the whites of the childrens' clothes are almost glowing. I love this effect in black and white with bright summer sun. I'm not as happy with the actual activity in the photo, there were a few others that captured the moment better but this was the best composed.

Nathan has given me a challenge for the rest of the month, to work my way through the alphabet. So from tomorrow each subject of my photo shall be inspired by a letter.
