Disney Delights

We went to Euro Disney a few weeks ago.  The children had a fantastic time.  Everything was just so exciting for them, the rides, the characters, the shows, the parade and just the atmosphere!  But one thing that really did catch our attention and imaginations was the light show.

The photos don't quite capture just how fantastic it was, but this show kept everyone's attention for half an hour even though it was at 10.30pm!

Fireworks, lasers, water fountains and *actual* fire!

The finale.

Flowers.

Argh blogger has changed it's format and it all looks new!  I don't know how to write a post, hopefully this will work....

Last week we went on holiday to France.  We spent a couple of days in Normandy and on one of those days we went for a little walk around a village, down to the river and along some country lanes.

There were lots of pretty flowers but these particular ones really caught my eye.

Remember, to view the photos properly you need to click on them individually, otherwise the quality isn't very good!

W is for Wine

Nathan and I went out for a rare meal, sans les enfants, on Sunday evening. Then we went for a drink or two in a bar. Here is photographic evidence of the light weight that he is.
One glass and he's off....

Raby Trees.

As well as having lovely swans, Raby Castle also has some pretty impressive trees.

I was attempting to create that looming, scary haunted building look but ended up with more of a simple silhouette!

Raby Swans.

Today Raby Castle had an Easter egg treasure hunt in their large gardens so we took our children along to have some fun. Afterwards we went for a walk around the grounds, alongside the castle and moat.

And that was when we met the swans, and I took some photos!

River Eden

Sunshine and rivers always make for lovely pictures. Yesterday we decided to drive to our hometown for Easter weekend. Usually we go up the M1 (because it's quicker) but the views up the M6 and across the pennines along the A66 are so much better, and with the lovely sunshine and recent snow it seemed like a good plan!

We stopped at a little town called Kirkby Stephen, popped into a lovely Cafe and then fed the ducks and threw stones into the river Eden....

I decided to have a go at the macro setting on my new 75-300 sigma lens. These are the results, and whilst not perfect they capture the sun, detail and colours really well.

Spring is back

And so am I!

So after a long long break and very little photography I have decided to start posting again. I do hope that there's still a few of you out there!

And why not start the year with a recent snap of our very well fed Mr. Squirrel.
