I decided to improve or rather test out my macro lens skills on the contents of my green waste pan prior to them entering the exterior compost bin. I took quite a few but these two are my favourites.

Because my lens is an old second hand one, it is not recognised by the camera so I have to do everything manually, which is good, except I couldn't see what the shots looked at on the screen as the sun was so bright! Consequently it took me a while to work out the settings to a point where the end product was reasonable. I am going to take more up close and personal shots over the coming weeks I think.

Ideas on what would make interesting photos and tips on how to improve are welcome.

I took these shots a couple of months ago now but forgot about them. This activity is becoming a bit of a habit for squish. We're having to keep pens out of reach as much as possible, but of course we don't manage it!


I'd say she spent a good half hour concentrating to ensure that she covered as much area as possible.


The photos were all taken with pretty much the same settings but I've edited them slightly to subtly change the colours.
