Cloud 23

A view from the Hilton bar - Cloud 23, Manchester.

Nathan, my sister and her husband went there on Monday night after a very delicious meal at Dimitris, a Greek restaurant on Deansgate which is the road you can see in the photo. We had some rather yummy but expensive cocktails! In the background you can just see the Manchester Wheel which I took a photo of a while back. And of course there is a reflection of the bar at the right hand side. I really quite like the mixture of images in the picture where you can't quite tell what light comes form where.

I'm on holiday at the moment, in cornwall, and am only online in a cafe so may not get on again for a few days. I shall be taking photo's of course but it may be a while before I upload them!

Dinner!!

We had a "proper" Sunday dinner today. Not a roast, as you can see, but stew and dumplings. I was going to do a beef steak and kidney stew but the girls still struggle to chew meat like that and it always feels a waste, so I bought beef sausages instead.

I think one could "challenge" my use of the word stew as the majority of cooking was done in the oven which would make it a casserole I believe? But despite the semantics, it tasted and looked delicious. Not a drop was spared nor wasted!

Sunflowers

The last of our sunflowers. I cut them all down yesterday. Most had died but this and one other still have a little bit of life left in them so are in a vase in the kitchen.

Piggy Bank

Yesterday was a good day because I bought myself some new items for my camera!

I now have a nice new bag that can fit everything in, including not camera items. I also bought a new zoom lens, a 50mm lens and an adapter to convert the 50mm into a macro lens. :-D I shall be getting more acquainted with them over the coming days and weeks!

Pebble Dash

There's something annoyingly horrid yet appealing about pebble dash.

ladybug ladybird

Almost squished this little thing last night as it made it's way across my bathroom floor.

Homegrown

My tomatoes are starting to ripen, at last!!

They've been growing gradually over the summer and I'd just begun to give up hope of them ever going red, and low and behold here we have two very yummy looking little cherry tomatoes. There's quite a few more on three different plants but they're all green just now.

Modelling on Mon 19th

Nathan's turn in front of the camera. We took so many different shots in colour, black and white, up close, portrait, landscape, with various levels of lighting. This is my personal favourite although I'm sure Nathan will have preferred others.

Portait

It's been quite a while since I took a photo of myself I believe. I am thinking of doing something to my hair but can't quite decide. I must say that my glasses are so much nicer than the ones in the previous portrait!

Hold on tight

Love Heart

Just a late night last minute photo. I found drawing this heart a lot harder than you'd think!

Thurs 15th - Stained glass

It's another candle photo!

Since moving the littlest girly into her bedroom with her sister, Nathan and I have been enjoying making our own room a little more adult once again. Candles are one of those features!

Squishy close up

I took about 60 photo's of her and this is the best I came up with which isn't that great! She was watching something cbeebies in nature on the Mac and kept moving, in poor lighting. It is very frustrating. I wanted to get a really nice crisp close up shot. Perhaps that is too much to ask with a toddler?!

Fake Flutterbys

My bedroom lamp has always been a source of relaxation to me. I find the glow of the butterflies rather soothing. It is one of those 'last for years' not terribly bright energy bulbs.

Waiting for a bus

On my way home from university.

I think this piece of art work or 'graffiti' is great and really brightens up the street. To take a photo of it in the reducing light meant a long(ish) exposure which resulted in pretty patterns from the surrounding street lamps and passing vehicles. I love these types of photos.

Bin

Another facebook friend inspired photo! (i.e. I request some ideas and this is what I get given :-) ) It's actually quite handy as I really had no ideas for a photo yesterday but I guess it doesn't make for the most interesting shot unless I take a lot of time over it!

Here you can see an empty orange carton which I assume Nathan and the kids drank at some point during the day as I don't recall drinking any orange jiuce! Also some bits of left over tea which regularly happens as the girls rarely seem to finish everything on their plates. We had polenta, olives, some veggies and brie :-) A bit of a mix. There's also the hint of some plastic packaging in there but not sure what that's from. All in all a rather unexciting bin full wouldn't you say?

Not only the kids have fun in the play park!

Cake Baking

The girls helping us bake our Christmas cake. It is currently in the oven and smells amazingly amazing!

For Scott :-)

I thought you'd feel it was about time for another photo of my girls! ;-)

Oct 7th - Books!

My first pile of books from university. Yawn, I mean YAY!

Oct 6th - Office creating

As I am now a student, Nathan is very kindly allowing me into his office space. I have my own desk for my laptop, and a very cool "techy chair". We decided to make it more homely and warm (because it is actually just half of the garage with no real flooring etc.) but that involved emptying everything into the kitchen, which has proved rather space and time consuming!

Picadilly Gardens by night

Taken on my way home from University. Hopefully the fact that I am travelling through the city at least twice a week may make for some more interesting photos.

Sunday Oct 4th - Harvest festival

Sat 3rd October

Cormorant spotting in Fleetwood. I just about managed to get a photo of it on the water but it just looks like a little dot amongst the blue.

The Last Fortnight

These are the best two shots from the previous couple of weeks! As you can see I didn't get my camera out much.

Blog update

Morning all!

I am pleased to say that my blog will be up and running again from today. Very sorry for the temporary break, but ever so occasionally personal life has priority and photography has to take a back seat. No really, it's true!

Anyway, like I say, I've taken a couple of photos over the past few days and all being well I'll upload them this evening. Have a good day.
